Blind Melon - s/t / Sippin' Time Sessions 2xLP

Yes, it was Record Store Day again. I couldn't care less, I thought, like every year, let the fuckers get their 5 copies of everything and sell it on ebay for three times the price they paid or more. Boring. Why don't you sell drugs instead?
Anyway, a week after the day I found out by surprise that there is a reissue of Blind Melon's first album. Lucky enough, my local store had one copy left that I could get my sweaty excited hands on today. Haven't made it to the fourth side yet, which is their first EP and includes two songs that are not on the album, along with a couple more that are. But the album is amazing! If you can get your hands on one of these do it! One of the best bands of the 90s. Excellent craftsmanship. Long haired men that play music that is neither grunge nor metal nor anything else that sucks, but just great in all respects. Let's hope for a 20 year anniversary reissue of Soup in 2015!

EDIT: After giving the fourth side a spin, yes, I'll say, it's great. Just like every note this band ever played. The EP includes one of the songs (Soul One, in an earlier version) that are compilated on the posthumous Nico album, which is one of my top five favorite albums of all time and which I strongly hope will get a vinyl version some day!
